I'm not sure if I believe this, but I heard a rumor that the date of the switch is now being pushed back to June by our President because of the state of the economy, as well as the overwhelming demand for converter boxes. Any of y'all hear about this??

I'm waiting for my bailout funds to make the switch. Looking for enough to get a 52" LCD. Maybe some free cable. Gawd I love democrats.

Still, I think it's going to be February 17 for the switch. It's a little late, anyway, to be talking about anything any different. There's no reason to not be prepared for this. Plus, anyone that doesn't know about this change must be living in a cave.

I'm waiting for the democrats to pay me back for my house that I have already paid for. Do you think they will throw in a new TV too?

You're absolutely right, Case. If I remember correctly, the date for the changeover in Feb was set more than a year ago!

I'm ready, as I have the TV sets and paid basic cable.

I took one 1988 model CRT set by Goodwill before Christmas. I have one left, but since I have cable, it won't make any difference!

The date will most likely be pushed back. There are still a lot of people without the converter box. Our legislatures are voting on it now. I don't think they won't to anger anyone so they will probably push back the date. I was hearing they are wanting to push it as far back as September. It doesn't really matter to me. I've always had digital cable.

Well, now that the switchover has been pushed back to June, is there anyone out there still not ready for this change?

For the government to make such hoop-la over a stupid TV switch is pretty lame. I think they really need to worry about the important things that are happening. People will live without television. Geez.

It took me a couple of months to get my coupon but I finally did last week and bought the converter box. I have satellite TV but I need the rabbit ears for the local network channels.

As much as I hate having yet another device hooked up to my TV, I have to admit that this is pretty cool. I got my TV as a clearance item and it didn't come with a remote control; none of the universal remotes I've tried worked with the TV. BUT the remote control with the converter box DOES control my TV and it actually does a lot more than I thought it would. Yahoo!!!! Plus, the picture is very, very clear.
