Texas Where We Stand: Education

America's Health Rankings 2008 - States

Where will Texas rank by State with the CDC for Chlamydia infections for 2008? | Hubdub (http://www.hubdub.com/m34471/Where_will_Texas_rank_by_State_with_the_CDC_for_Ch lamydia_infections_for_2008 - broken link)

The evidence is all around us...but, Texas, the first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem.
Which I don't see happening any time soon.

When did schools start pledging the Texas flag?

I grew up in Texas and never did this. Imagine my surprise when I enrolled my Kindergarteners last month (we just moved back) and I heard this on announcements. Now, I love me some Texas and I love our flag, but what is UP with that???

Ok D-Towner, you can't actually be serious about all this stuff you say, right? Why are you SOOOO obsessed with Texas? You are the epitome of Texas arrogance. You think Texas and everyone in it is better than the rest of the world. Honestly, how realistic is that? There are tons of places in the world that are way more scenic than Texas. Geez, you practically worship Texas.

It is just the way it is with many. I had a brother-in-law whom I dearly loved, but his obsession with Texas was a bit more than I could stand at times. That's what turns me off, to a certain extent, to Texas. It isn't the state, but the arrogance of some people.

When I worked for the Texas school system from 1984 to 1991, we did not pledge to the lone star state's flag but when I went back to working for the Texas schools in 2004, they were pledging then. I started a thread many months ago on the "General U.S." forum (I think) about this and there are other states that do it as well.

Wow, that's all kind of scary. I think this entire country is getting closer to major disaster more and more every day. It's just profoundly sad.
