Hi-
Last night in conversation with a friend, I learned that the Dublin Dr. Pepper Museum (I've never been there or Dublin) has Dublin Dr. Pepper Cake. Should I go there & get some or stay home & make it from a recipe?

Thanks,
fallguy

I don't mean to be tacky, but dang, you might want to start trying to sort out some answers to all these questions you ask for your own self. It's simply a matter of deciding for yourself if you want to drive miles and miles for a meal at some far off cafe or ditto for a cake.

Don't know if the cake is worth it but the museum and town are worth a look.

If you make your own DP Cake, don't expect it to taste like the Dublin cake.......the DP there tastes much different than the DP in the rest of the world!

The cake that you bake from the mix is very very good. The icing is a bit funky, so you might want to taste it before lathering it on. You can also order the cake mix online if you don't mind the S/H charges [probably cheaper than gas, depending on where you live]

Buy genuine Dublin Dr Pepper products

I am LMAO, I thought fallguy had disappeared after his last series of random tourist-trap "should I stay or should I go?" questions. Awesome! pppffttt....

I ordered a couple of cases of Dublin Dr. Pepper late Sunday night on line, and the UPS man brought them today (Tuesday). By they time you add in packaging, shipping and tax (for Texans), they come to slightly under a dollar a can. But that's what I pay for Tecate, so. . .

I still have friends and family who live within the distribution range and buy it at the gas stations to send to me. Temple also manufactures it, and I can buy theirs down here; but I swear it doesn't quite taste the same. Did a blind taste test with the admin when I worked on campus, and I could tell the difference.

If you're close to Stephenville, I've heard rumors that the WalMart there sells it dirt-cheap when you break it down to unit price [I think you have to buy a lot though].

Now, fallguy, how can you not get in the car and go to Dublin? Heck, I'll probably do that on one of my days off in a few weeks. You need to get you about a million six-packs of 8-ouncers, plus get a whole cake, not just a slice. The museum and the soda fountain are worth your 2-dollar-a-gallon gas.
