I have a friend who visited from Chicago. She liked the Dallas skyline. She said it was different (in a good way). That doesn't say anything for Houston, but it was quite a compliment coming from her.

That's an old pic. Chase Tower doesn't have its blue lights & the Museum Tower isn't even in the skyline.

Of course its different, there is no massive water front & its 100 times smaller than Chicago's skyline.

Maybe she was referring to Dallas' unmistakable night skyline?

Houston is the opposite, its daytime skyline is the one most people remember.

Yes, it was the night skyline. That's its strong point. Houston's is bigger but I doubt someone from Chicago would consider it all that different.

I beg to differ.

I was on top of Rockafellar Center in NYC several years back & couldn't help but over hear an anonymous conversation between 2 total strangers about how Houston has one of the best skylines in America outside of New York, respectively.

I don't see how that suggests that it's vastly different than Chicago's.

Chicago has 1 main skyline, Houston has multiple skylines.

If Houston's were all combined it would be a smaller Chicago.

The density in Uptown really compliments the backdrop of highrises. Great pic.
