we bought a new 05 tC and had 5 trouble free years with it. Did a bunch of mods (were among the first around here to add the supercharger, among other items) and had some fun playtime in it. Would have kept it longer but moved south and wanted a convertible for our toy.
Our daughter bought a new 08 tC, has 85k miles mostly trouble free as well (we wont count the hatch issues that could rear their ugly rattling head up here in winters on those models lol). She's done some work to hers as well, though it has become more of a winter car for her as she has a blown rsx for her summer toy.

Anyhow we always liked the Scion vibe, how they were sold, and liked the cars themselves. In fact if they just made a drop top frs, there would be one in our garage now.

Kia Soul, starts under $16K.

The Soul really has stolen the market segment from the xB. Since coming online, Kia has been moving 100K of them a year, meanwhile XB sales have fallen off a cliff in that same timespan (yearly sales now down in the teens/year).

They stopped making the Nissan Cube last year - when it was priced about the same as the xB.

The Cube is also a LOT smaller than the xB. Not really equivalent.

Sure, as any 4 door sedan is "the same style". And it STILL isn't being made any more.

That doesn't make them all equivalent and intercheangable, LOL!

So - again - who is making something that isn't just SHAPED like an xB, but is also in the same size range, for under $17,600?

Again, this is NOT equivalent to the xB - it is square, that's the only thing they have in common. It is way smaller. That's why it's cheaper.

"Crappy purple Scion" in the song "50 Ways to Say Goodbye" by Train might be the kiss of death for Scion...
