I would not call the Corolla the best car in the world, not by a long shot and I own one. What they are very good at is gas mileage and reliability which is why I bought one. 6 years now and all I have had to replace was a timing belt pulley which was leaking.

At one time the Corolla offered a sporty coupe (notchback or hatchback) with slightly higher performance than base model and sportier handling than the base model while also providing very good fuel economy and reliability. It feels like decades since Corolla had a true sporty version. I wonder if Toyota is monitoring the sales of their competitors’ sport versions of the Corolla competition? Golf GTI, Jetta GLI, Focus RS/ST, Elantra Sport, and many others offer a higher performance and sportier version of their base compact.

Only car my Mom ever bought ever bought new... 8 years of driving and NO problems at all! One set of brake pads and regular oil and fluid service...
They are now made in Canada sadly because Toyota sold the Fremont plant to Tesla

Ill chime in: To mature folk reliability is a big deal!! For the young people they think about how boring a car is.

Statistically speaking. The Corolla is Toyotas most reliable car. End of story. [I am not copying the knuckleheads!]

I would say, Toyota's most reliable vehicle is 4Runner.

The Toyota Corolla 2019 comes with some significant features that make it one of the more popular cars around. As you may have observed in the car business, the Corolla is a favourite among customers with many opting to purchase new variants to replace the older ones. The 2019 edition has stunning interiors and beautiful upholstery. The vehicle has safety features like the pre-collision system and the bird’s eye view which keeps it ahead of the competition.
