I've been ignoring those letters I've gotten in the mail over the last few years indicating that the airbags in my 2008 Toyota Yaris should be replaced because I can't do without my car and don't worry about things, but now I wonder if the fact that this model has a recall notice will hinder my selling it in another year or two...

It's a recall, it's free to do. Should be in and out in an hour. Have you called to find out how long it would take for them to do the job?

A smart buyer might know to check to see if the recall has been done. But if they find out it hasn't, likely they won't care. They'll just take it in themselves and have it done. It's free, after all.

Stop being lazy and go get it done. Make an appointment and wait at the dealer while the work is being done. It is a quick repair.

Last thing I would want to do is sell a car that I knew needed a recall performed and then the new owner gets injured because it wasn't done at the time of sale. Plus, you could also be putting your own safety at risk driving the car without the recall being done.

Turns out my particular car has THREE recalls on it (!). They have to order parts for all. In the meantime, I'm supposed to drive a dangerous car, I guess (a friend said they gave her a rental car, but they laughed when I suggested this). Will do, but only because it may be an issue when I go to sell it, which I will in the next couple of years.
