Item number two, I always travel with a bag with a shoulder strap. If I have to set it down, I stand with one foot on or inside the strap.

Number five, I once did have a situation in which I was being overcharged. The word for "police" is almost the same in all languages except Irish, and it is magic, even if it's the only word you know. They are paying off the police, but still, they don't want the hassle, nor the appearance of one.

LV taxi drivers don't get paid by us, until the luggage is on the curb...no matter how much of a "hurry" they may be in....so far, that's worked just fine!
Get out of the cab, get your bags, and THEN pay the cabbie!

In Vegas we just hire a car to and from the airport instead - which makes that process much easier.
