I don't get why people are into cruises in the first place.
Have you ever been on a cruise? We went on a cruise once. Not really my thing but believe me it wasn't our worst vacation.
Would I go now with visions of human waste floating around.. No not even for free!

There are three types of cruiser.
1. Those who see a cruise as a cheap, cost-contained vacation.
2. Those who want to get on the ship and eat and drink themselves into a heart attack before participating in a belly flop contest while their offspring are being cared for in the kids club by strangers, all under the auspices of a "Family Vacation."
3. Those who want to see parts of the world best accessible by sea or get a taste for several areas in order to determine which to return to on a longer land based visit in the future. The traveler who wants enrichment programs while on vacation would also fall in with this group.
My husband and I fall into group 3. We like to unpack once, and return to the same room every night. It's also nice to know that we'll be in a comfortable place with Western bathroom facilities and safe food at the end of the day in more remote parts of the world where safe to consume food can be scarce and hotels with a comfortable bed and hot shower can be scarcer.
We've been on Caribbean cruises, I doubt we'll do that again. Places like French Polynesia, the Baltics, and the cities along some of the European Rivers are best seen by small ship (less than 300 passengers or so) with a staff that is familiar with the area and enrichment programs that compliment the ports.
With all that has happened in the news, how likely are you to book Carnival
We have cruised them before and they are not our favorite line. Because we can only handle about 1 cruise every year, right now, we sould not book them. I did have a lot of cliants, when still in the business that would sail no other line. I don't think many people, who are loyal to Carnival will shy away from them, but for those with mixed feelings or thinking of trying them, my guess is they might not ever book Carnival.

Have you tried it and if yes, what type of ship, what did you not like about it? If you haven't tried it, how can you have a negative feeling about cruising?

Go read some of the cruise specific forums, you'll see that for every one poster saying they will remain loyal, another is washing their hands of Carnival and a third is on the fence.
We booked the Hawaii cruise before the trouble with the Triumph. Now we are wishing we had not.
Not because of the breakdowns, but because it seems like the reviews have gotten worse instead of better since.
I would say the negative reviews, even on Carnivals own website, are increasing. Complaints ranging from bad food to poor attitudes among the crew are far more numerous than the positive reviews.
Logic would dictate that Carnivals management would be trying to generate some good public relations after all the trouble they have had, but it seems as if things at Carnival are getting worse not better.
There is something wrong, it may be incompetence or it may be apathy, but there is no indication that Carnival puts much value in customer satisfaction at the present time. If we could back out of our booking without losing half of our deposit, we would surely cancel and re book with a line that has much better reviews.

On the very day you started this thread, Aks, I embarked on a Norwegian cruise. You can imagine how many jokes the comedians on ship made about Carnival.
Carnival has never been on my must-try list. Stuff happens, and it's unfortunate that Carnival had so many things go wrong in such a short period of time. However, the way problems and crises were handled by Carnival seems inexcusable to me.
In the poll I chose "No thanks, I'll pass" instead of the last choice only because one thing I've learned in this life is to never say never.

My buddies almost convinced me to go on a Carnival Cruise as a Post Deployment vacation, looking back I'm quite glad I passed on that chance. I'll stick to Airplanes and Hotels for the foreseeable future.
