I'm planning a long trip to Europe and will need to send two bags home in the middle of the trip. Does anyone have experience sending bags unaccompanied?

Your best bet is to FedEx, Or UPS them home. (Well somewhere where someone can receive them).

Airlines will require you to send them as cargo, then someone would need to go to the airport to pick them up.

When I needed to send a bag from Maryland to California, I sent it to the closest Postal Annex (I believe) to our home in California. They held on to it until I could retrieve it. We used FedEx (I believe).

Talk to major shippers, like DHL or UPS or any other which ship worldwide.

Make sure for international shipping, that you ask about the fact where they wait until the pallet is full and then ship. I forgot what is was called ...
