No-no destinations:
1) the bush, forests, jungles, and "wastelands" with mischievous, predatory or venomous animals. Eco-tourism. Zoos. Hiking, camping. Why? Not in my comfort zone
2) arena- and stadium-hopping tours and events. (Prefer to consume indirectly)
Instead, tire me out with day-long museum and castle hopping / historical society stuff.
For whatever reason, some people just hate the idea of visiting certain places. Some people simply refuse to go to developing countries, some hate to visit big cities such as Paris or New York, many don't want to go to any mountains. For myself, the one place I absolutely refuse to go to is the Caribbean's.
Are there any places you (maybe irrationally) refuse to visit over the years?
No need to respond if you intend to say something like "all places are beautiful and unique in their own ways and I am willing to visit anywhere given the chance". This post is more about eccentricities of people.
I wouldn't go anywhere that requires traveling over a large body of water (ocean) to get there.
Sadly, Mexico, because the drug issues have made at least parts of it into essentially a "failed state". I'd like to visit, but, not gonna do it.
Not all parts of Mexico are bad. My husband and I rented a car and drove the entire length of the Yucatan Peninsula a couple of months ago and we had a blast. The people were some of the kindest people we encountered, the food was excellent, obviously nothing like the Mexican food you get in the US, and the beauty of the place took my breath away.
I'm looking forward to visiting Mexico City next, since I heard a lot of good things about that place.
Oh, I don't know any of "don't go" places. I think I would love to go everywhere, if I could... as long they are not involved in a war or dealing with some horrible disease like ebola...
So you're saying you won't travel to any place that has slaughter houses too? You must stay home a lot
then.
My point is there's always double standards when we talk of animal abuse. We conveniently leave out the chickens, pigs, cows and turkeys..
