Lauterbrunnen/Wengen
Cape Town
The English country side.
I'll take your Lauterbrunnen and raise you (literally) Murren and the magic of looking down over the cliffs in the prettiest part of the Alps as paragliders soar over your head.
As crowded as parts of it are getting Bernese Oberland is a truly magical part of the world.
1) North Shore Oahu - after I'm off the road and have settled into a spot along the water
2) Lincoln Square, Chicago. After visiting/scouting the city for 2 years looking for our next place to live, we always ended up finishing the day here. So charming and idyllic for an urban neighborhood. Outdoor concerts, farmers markets, families, the rumbling of the EL overhead. Now our home is only 3 blocks from the epicenter.
3) Arizona/Sonora Desert Museum, Tucson, AZ - this is basically a zoo, that is held in natural Sonoran habitat, with vistas abound and a sense of wonder. A magical place.
4) Lisbon, Portugal
There are many other places where I've had a seminal moment, or feeling of peace but they are scattered around and not necessarily concentrated in a place more than once.
Nice France and Seville Spain, of course subject to change as I visit other places
