Just wondering which areas are completely overrun. I don't mind going to busy places....just this year, I have been to Niagara Falls, Page AZ area, Acadia National Park, White Mountains of NH, beaches of southern Maine, and Toronto........all of those places get a lot of tourists and are busy. But they are not CRAZY busy.

The places I must avoid are ones like the Grand Canyon during busy times, Disney World, New Orleans during Mardi Gras........places like that.
What else should be on that list??

You beat me to it! I actually worked in the heart of Times Square & there is no real off-season & it got more mobbed every year. Every day going out for lunch was like swimming against the tide, more & more of it is closed to vehicle traffic as the years go by due to this crush of humanity.

Yosemite valley in the summer - backcountry is empty though, and totally empty in the winter.

Yellowstone

Grand Teton N.P and Yellowstone. Tried to do a couple of the popular hikes in these parks over the summer and there was zero places to park. Cars were lined up along the main roads. We are lucky that we live close to these parks so we just went home, but if I was a tourist coming from far away I would be so disappointed.

Disneyland is far too overcrowded and no amount of raising their prices every year has seemed to slow the crowds down at all. At this point if I never go there again, good riddance!

Well NYC and Disney World are the obvious answer, but I still love them!

We're planning on Yosemite next summer- managed to get reservations for the Yosemite Valley Lodge. It's going to be interesting to see if it's more overcrowded than the main canyon at Zion NP, which was insane in 2017- people waiting more than an hour to catch the shuttle bus from the main visitors center at times.

You know when it’s busy time, you can’t get reservation inside the park. Grand Canyon in Dec is best because I couldn’t get after April.

Skagway, Alaska, pop. 750 counting dogs, typically has 3-4 cruise ships visit daily, each carrying 2000 - 3000 passengers and 1000+ crew. Do the math.
