Chef's Family Restaurant is a good place for quick breakfast and lunch. It's in Pasco, and it's a diner type of place. The food is always good and the service is as friendly as it gets in the Tri Cities. One caveat: I personally avoid that area in the evening.

Ate at El Fat Cat Grille at 4th and Vancouver in Kennewick the other day. The shopping center is nothing much to look at but the food at this place is really good. Tacos, burritoes, etc. They also have a great salsa bar, burgers, sandwiches, soups, and dinner specials. Very highly reccomended. Simple menu but the food is excellent.

Well, Bella Deli in Benton City closed at the end of September 2011. It was nice while it lasted. Making a go of it as a business for a restaurant is always hard, and running something so small and so upscale in BC must have just worn the 2 gals who ran it into the ground. I think frequently someone who loves to cook opens a restaurant, thinking the job of proprietor is for them, when what they really want to do is be a chef for somebody else, and let this other person do all the business administration "stuff"...

On a more positive note, the old Blue Goose in Prosser is re-opened as Maggie's Place - I have not tried them yet. Right around the corner from it is Whitstran Brewpub, I have not tried it yet either, but have it on reliable word that it's quite good.

Isla Bonita remains shut down after the fire several months ago, but they are rebuilding.

One of the lesser-known little gems is Tri-Teriyaki over in West, part of a small older strip mall. Very good Korean food, very good prices.

Don't recommend restaurants you haven't been to.

Do you traditionally step in and give orders to people? He specified which he had been to and which not. People can decide based on that for themselves.

It is most helpful to discuss restaurants that you have actually been to.

I think this thread is a great place to mention new local restaurants that you might have noticed, even if you haven't tried them. It lets the rest of us know that there's something new to try. Then, after we've tried it, we can come back say if it was good or not.
