I can't say. My first exposure and the lions share of my knowledge about the case is the Netflix series. I walked away with the impression Avery was possibly inoccent. I also understand that facts can be manipulated.
For what it's worth I've discussed the case with people from WI that lived with this case and have been exposed to it for years. All are convinced Avery is guilty. Whatever that is worth.
Guilty. The Netflix series was ridiculous, one sided, and left out many of the facts. You really need to read all of the court transcripts to understand why.
I live in the area where it happened and drive past the salvage yard a few times every week. That may not mean much but everyone that you talk to around here believes he is guilty, including many family members. Just let him and his disgusting nephew rot in prison where they belong
I would not have convicted him. Not because I think he’s innocent, but there is no way I could trust any evidence found by the police department he had a very legitimate law suit against and was not supposed to be conducting the investigation or handling evidence.
I watch this series and even though I didn't like the way he was treated there's just too many coincidences surrounding all the murders. I believe he's totally guilty.
It points to Bobby Dassey being suspicious. It's a little odd that this information is coming in so many years after the crime, but I guess not too unusual (the witness said he fears for his safety). It seems more and more that the Avery/Dassey family was involved, but I still think there was too much reasonable doubt to convict Steven/Brendan.
