Anyone else in Tucson hearing this low frequency rumbling outside? It happens every minute or so, sometimes even every 30 seconds. (Ruling out sonic boom from Air Force base). It can even last for a long time resembling an idling diesel truck. It's been happening every night for weeks...Intensifying around 2-4am. I'm not crazy... My wife hears it... My neighbor hears it...My cats hear it. I live in Sahuarita, but i heard it at my in laws place in Rio Rico (it sent their dogs into a frenzy), and I've heard it in East Tucson with my friend (who could hear it as well)

Maybe mine blasting? Anyone else experiencing this?

Hmmm. Nothing in NW, where I am. My eyesight is pretty bad, but I hear above average and I can't say I've heard anything that a quick trip to the front porch didn't explain. If you find out, let us know. Given where you are, I'd also guess something from the mine.

I often hear a humming, vibrating sound here in OV. It's really noticable at night when it's much quieter outside. Sometimes it's loud, sometimes I don't hear it at all. Sometimes it comes and goes. If I go outside, I can't really tell where it's coming from, but I'm up around the Chili's on Oracle and it sounds almost like it's coming from the area of the police station/library.

not familiar with Tuscons area . one guy suggested it comes from a mine? if i was hearing such sounds i'd be trying to track the source down . first time i heard it i would get down on driveway and see if the sound is coming from underneath the ground .

I hear this periodically on the far SW side. Usually it's after dark. I have assumed it's planes doing training, but have no proof of that. Sometimes it is really annoying.

It's after midnight and I'm hearing the whining, humming sound ebb and flow, almost as if it's carried on the wind. If I could describe it better, it's a solid, constant pitched, whining motor sound; almost like the sound of the hum you hear in an ear/audio test where you raise your hand if you hear the sound. If it were a musical note, it'd be an A sharp or B flat. A steady, pitch pipe like noise...

Maybe the military re-started the Philadelphia Experiment.

The frequency at which the OP says this is happening doesn't fit with a train, but everything else does (that was my guess too).
