Really enjoyed this video, Bart! I was taken by how calm and well-mannered they are, almost courteous to one another. And the baby nursing from its mother was very sweet. I like how some of them laid down against the brick wall in the sun for the warmth. Was very calming to watch - no one is in a hurry. Maybe these javelina are onto something about life without stress. Thank you for another great video!

Although it does not make me happy when our little friends get in to the trash, I really like these little guys. They do get in to it with each other from time to time (like any family does), but most of the time, the javelina just want to go about their lives without drama. A few weeks ago, I was walking down my street when I encountered a dog snarling at the end of his leash about 8 feet from a lone javelina that was crossing the street. The javelina just stood there until the owner pulled the dog away. Once the dog was far enough away, the javelina finished crossing the street, went down in to a wash and went on his way. Another time, I walked to the end of a dead end, turned around and started back when I saw a large javelina on some property above the street. I stopped and waited a few seconds and the javelina came down the hill and crossed the street about 30 feet in front of me. Once he crossed, I continued on my way. It was a very cool interaction without any drama. This kind of speaks to the "well mannered" comment you made. Any baby nursing is sweet, so the same for the javelina baby. I love it when I get to see something like that! I am glad you found the video calming. I know that I sure enjoyed sharing the time with the javelina and capturing it on video!
