We are traveling with a 15 mo and an almost 4yo so we will have to stop often.
We are also considering stopping for a couple of days somewhere on the coast to enjoy the beach.
We are planning the trip during Easter week.
Any recommendations? TIA

hahaha, I use to live in Sacramento too! Great city. I'm going to agree with sh9730's post, San Diego for the beach and come to Tucson.

No beach involved, Suzie . . .

However, I would recommend East to Reno and South via Las Vegas and The Hoover Damn and then all the way into Tucson.

A simple direct route with some great scenery and the ideal time for a side trip to The Canyon if time allows.

That sound like a great route if we didn't have the little ones.
