I do love the FREE mountains. Although they aren't completely FREE - you do have to pay to drive up and hike on Mt. Lemmon and a few others!

You might even love it for the quirkiness (really, it's kind of odd) of the 'foothills' and you also love it for all the eccentric old people. They're funny to watch.

Ha! Never thought of them as "free" mountains before...

M.A., Sounds like you might have a big decision weighing in on your mind, you know... the child thing. That kind of decision is enough to make anyone feel funky. I haven't even moved to Tucson yet, but I know I will love it. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of why we picked a place. The grass is greener is always a fantasy. I should know, I live in the mtns of NC and I can't wait to leave! Hang in there.

They're free to look at, though. And the sunsets that come with them are free.

We drove up today - it's a whopping $20 for a year pass up there. So worth it.

Tucson awaits you with open arms, GW!

Come on home, home... to the range... where the deer and the antelope play... where SELDOM is heard a discouraging word... and the dish ran away with the spoon...

You'll get a lot of use out of the pass at Sabino Canyon, too!

I just noticed this...

I just spent eight years in horrible misery in NC. Tucson is sooooo much better. And the mountains are so much more dynamic and interesting. Aren't you tired of looking at trees, trees and more trees?
