Ouch! Thanks for the link! I used to live in Tucson, but now my permanent residence is Phoenix. I was looking at the August average lows for Tucson versus my Phoenix zip code. The difference is ten degrees! That's substantial.

I'm thinking of relocating to Tucson someday!

Back in college, I used to go back to my parents' home in Marshalltown, Iowa and do detasseling in the cornfields all summer. It was a real relief to get back to the dry heat of Tucson in the third week of August when school started up again. After I graduated, I got a job where I stayed in Tucson all year round. I'd take a Tucson summer over a summer in the Midwest anytime!

I compared zip codes 85741 with 85044 on weather.com and noted that 85741 (in Tucson) was eight to ten degrees cooler for its summer low averages than 85044 (Phoenix). That's a world of difference. If you go to the far southeast region of the Tucson "metro" area it's probably a ten to twelve degree difference. I checked my former zip in Fresno, CA (just for grins) and in the summer for the low temps, Fresno averages twenty degrees lower than Phoenix. And I always used to think Fresno was hot!

Yeah, it's hard to explain how awful it is. Especially to all those Southerners who are loving all the snow they're getting.

You'll be here pretty soon... so don't despair! Then we can all "hate" this weather together - and at close proximity!

I check the UA webcam all the time, and this morning it was 62˚F there, the same as it was here in Kaaawa, Hawaii. We've got clear skies so it will go up another 20˚ by noon though.
