Thanks!
I just did some research on this subject. We (2 adults) live in Saddlbrooke and are gone 2.5 months in the summer. We live in a 1900 sqft house built in 2001. We use an electric golf cart to get around Saddlebrooke. Water header & furnace is Nat Gas. We came here from Seattle. Seattle has lower rate per unit, but total cost is lower in Saddlebrooke by 20%

Annual Electricity = $830 (Trico)
Annual Garbage = $150 (Waste Mgt)
Annual Nat Gas = $330 (SW Gas)
Annual Water = $166 (Lago del Oro)
Monthly Sewer = $40 (Robson Comm.)

Default Parkrunner

This is good information...very informative. Thanks!

I was wondering if you would also comment on internet and TV service in Saddlebrooke? I don't live there, yet, but will within the next few months. Are you satisfied with your internet service and which company do you use? Perhaps there is only one for Saddlebrooke...Western Broadband, but if there is a choice, I'd certainly like to hear the pros and cons.

I currently pay only renter's insurance because our HOA where I live covers insurance for the house structure. Just in the general ball park, can you tell me about what your home insurance costs? I know it all depends on the size of your home (we're now looking at something between 1500-1700 sq. ft.) and if you give them your cars to insure, but I'm a bit in the dark on this cost and would really like to have a better idea about it.

Thanks again for your answers.

Our homeowners insurance through AAA was about $300 last year.

Parkrunner, I'm looking at Saddlebrooke, too. Looks very nice. Could you give me an idea what to expect for a Homeowner's Association (HOA) Fee for a 2000 sq.ft. home?

Your homeowner's insurance cost beats where I'm currently living, Houston, by an order of magnitude. Probably not too many hurricanes hit Saddlebrooke.

Default SaddleBrooke Utility Costs-reply

Hubby and I live in a 1600 sq. ft. home in SaddleBrooke and have been here since June, 2010. We tend to turn things off when not in use, so average usage of a 1400 sq. ft. home might be fairly close to ours.

Electricity:
Jun (partial month) $130; Jul $192; Aug $210; $170; Sep $86; Oct $87;
Nov $69; Dec $72

Heating:
Jun (partial month) $21; Jul $35; Aug $38; Sep $36; Oct $237; Nov $61;
Dec $95

Sewer: All months: $40 per month

Water: We have very large backyard on a drip system, so I suspect the winter months, when we cut back plant water, would be more accurate.
Jun (partial month) $27; Jul $31; Aug $36; Sep $32; Oct $29; Nov 28;
Dec $17

Trash: Billed quarterly...$55

TV cable-cable Internet-telephone: We use the local Western Broadband package and pay $113 for them all together. There are other companies to choose from, but so far we are happy with them.

We also decided to get a pest control service as we began to have scorpions in the house. We chose to be sprayed every other month and that charge is $36 from Home Team Pest Control. I believe the cost goes down if you want them to spray every month.

Hope these figures help.

Thelma

Would love an update on this information for 2015! Looking at a Saddlebrook home that is 2400 square feet with two a/c units. Thanks!

Default Saddlebrooke costs 2015

I live in a 1575 sq ft home in Saddlebrooke

June electric bill was $190. We keep it at about 76 degrees 24/7
Water bill was $39, we did use extra water for remodeling. We have drip irrigation front and back.
Direct TV is $85. We do not have a land line.

My HOA is $199
I think my insurance is about $600 per year with USAA
$40 per quarter for bug service, we do not have a bug problem. Outside spray only.
Sewer $39

Thanks for the info. There is Direct TV in the house I am renting, however, I believe it must be basic because most of the channels are for shopping Very little movies and for what they have, it is very expensive.

I just called the gas and electric company for this 2400 square foot house and heard some strange numbers. For instance, the highest electric bill was for November and the bill was $240. They also said the highest gas bill was $160 a month. Wow, that would be possibly $500 a month for gas and electric. Is that possible? They did not use the home a lot. Could a home built in 2002 be that inefficient?

Electric bill … assume that includes AC?

Gas bill … does that include heating/furnace and hot water heater?

I would question the personal consumption of these utilities before the efficiency.
