I love it !! The mother of rizzoli is played by lorrain braco whom i dearly loved in Sopranos . Great show check it out if you have not seen it . Awesome in my opinion . One of my faves this season .
I'm not an Angie Harmon fan but gave this show a try. I definitely think it's going to be one of the seasons best. Maybe a new Cagney ( sp??) and Lacey type show.
I was waiting for someone to make a thread about this show! I loved it also. I am a fan of both Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. (still miss "Kate" on NCIS)
Lorraine Braco as Rizzolli's mother was excellent! I hope this show does well in the ratings and sticks around.
Also like that another show is set here in Boston area.
I turned it off part way through. The writing was not particularly good, and the characters were one-dimensional. Cagney and Lacey it's not, and the "brilliant forensic pathologist" thing is getting tired. Maura Isles is a wooden imitation of Temperence Brennan or Dana Scully.

I join you in your assessment. As if Jill Hennessey weren't abrasive enough as the "I can't live by your rules" female professional of Boston, we now have Angie Harmon (as usual playing Angie Harmon) plugged into the stereotype. I love Lorraine Bracco, Sasha Alexander is attractive, and I give anything with female leads a try, but thanks to La Diva Harmon, this is unwatchable.
Why does every TV show today have to have an authoritarian lead that we're supposed to think is cute and cuddly in spite of his or her abhorent manners? Putting Leroy Jethro Gibbs in a pencil skirt and hair weaves doesn't make him any better.

In fairness, the character, as written in the books, is not much different, although a very different physical type. She is abrasive, insecure, and very judgmental. She does get her job done, but, I've always found it very hard to like her.
And, and BTW, I find Leroy Jethro Gibbs extremely cute and cuddly.

Give it one more shot. The producers make pilots to appeal to television executives who they want to buy the show not necessarily to appeal to TV audiences.
I love the show Justified. I wasn't thrilled with the pilot but the rest of the episodes were great and it has become my favorite TV show.
Angie Harmon was my favorite prosecutor on Law and Order. I don't think I've ever seen the other actress.
