True, are'nt there some islands outside of Texas and the Carolinas?

I'm sure there are, but that's not my neck of the woods. I remember T-dog was determined to head for the coast at the end of season 2, and only didn't because Laurie threatened to jump out of the truck, he must have had something in mind.

He was probably thinking about the Carolina Sea Islands.

It's hilarious you mention this because I thought the same thing watching the episode. Any zombies that are there, easily killed and tossed in the water. But surely they aren't going to develop any skills to row a boat to an island. lol But maybe that's why they're in east... no such isolation as such. Plus, the show would get boring if there's no zombies to massacre..............

Which are regularly evacuated when hurricanes threaten. Without a weather service, that would be an unstable area.

I push for setting up a refuge in the Midwest. Shoot, fortify a place in the cave areas of Missouri (Meramec, Onondoga) and you have a secure, temperate living area, plus fertile ground for sustained agriculture. Being a native Midwesterner, I well know the wide stretches where the population is small to begin with. It's not like the area of Atlanta, where there are gazillions of walking dead.

Of course, that makes for a boring zombie apocalypse

Good point. Maybe Mackinac Island would be a good choice then. No hurricanes there!
