We just got a Netflix trial (streaming via our PS3), so I am seeking recommendations for netflix viewing, and willing to offer a few of my own in return-- for example, I watched Brooklyn Rules-- a very solid movie, despite cast I don't like individually, in the vein of a coming of age mobster movie-- softer than Goodfellas, but more violent than Stand By Me. Screenplay by the guy behind The Sopranos. Definitely better than say, Knockaround Guys.

It completely depends on what you're into. We watch a lot of kids shows here. A hint, though - some things won't be available to stream forever. I've had things in my instant queue and suddenly noticed that it is only available for 3 more days.

Between my husband and I, we watch pretty much anything other than sex or gory stuff I especially like Nature documentaries, comedies and historical stuff (both fictional and non fictional). My husband likes thrillers, horror, political stuff, crime/ mafia movies and sci-fi, especially "end of the world" stuff.

We have kids stuff covered, so more looking for adult recommendations.

Well I actually watched this on Crackle...Reign on Me. Non comedy non sterotypical Adam Sandler movie with Don Cheadle. Old college roommate reconnects with troubled roommate who has sufferered a traumatic. What I call a slice of life movie - no particular beginning, no particular end. I liked it pretty well. A quiet movie, not a stunner but good.

One thing I've enjoyed with Netflix is watching TV series I didn't catch when they were on the air. "Better Off Ted" is a *hilarious* show, and my son recently watched all of the "My Name Is Earl" seasons.

We love, love, love Doctor Who - if you haven't seen that, you might check it out. It was "revitalized" in 2005, after being on the air from 1963 - 1989; you don't have to watch all of the old series to pick it up there.

You gave me an idea CharlotteGal, I'll see if they have Homicide- Life on the Street. It used to be my favourite crime series! I already checked and they do not have Upstairs, Downstairs for streaming, but I found that on Youtube.

Another recommendation from me: OSS 117. It's a collection of several French spy/crime movies with a comedic element- kinda Bond meets adult pink panther.

Maybe next year.
You can stream it on Xfinity if you are a Comcast subscriber.

It all depends what you like.

I'm planning on getting into the Carlos mini-series.

Just finished Downton Abbey and loved it.
