In your opinions, what was the best cartoon series of the 1980's?

That's hard. The '80s were a REALLY bad era for cartoons. Even Hanna Barbera's stuff turned to poo in the '80s. But if I had to pick '80s cartoons I could still sit down and watch today, I'd have to go with:

Ducktales. Decent animantion and remarkably good writing. Still doesn't hold a candle to Chuck Jones on his worst day, but all in all a decent cartoon.

Muppet Babies. A surprisingly witty show, despite the cutesyness. Tons of pop culture references to keep my inner geek happy.

Mr. T. Just for the camp value. I pity the po' fool who don't like this cartoon!

But if you broaden the topic to include best '80s kids' shows or even best '80s Saturday morning shows, then the winner is easily Pee Wee's Playhouse, which is a masterwork of utter genius.

While not a cartoon, PeeWee's Playhouse wins hands down as the best kids show EVER!!! Yes ... I was an adult in the 80's, but I watched PeeWee's Playhouse! In fact, I bought the series on DVD so I could relive those happy times and SCREAM REALLY LOUD when I hear the "word of the day".

It didn't get any better than He-Man and The Masters of The Universe for me in the 80s

Spiderman and His Amazing Friends. Sure the 90s Spiderman blows it out of the water but I still liked it

The Simpsons kinda apply. Started in the 80s as a 2 minute short on the Tracy Ullman show before they debutted in '89 in their own show
