Does anyone know that name of the episode about a boy who falls into a well?

The father won't accept charity. But after the men help save his son, he softens up. They dig a second well next to the first one and then dig a tunnel connecting them in order to save the boy.

Thanks for any help.

Not familiar with that one. They did have a fall in the well episode in 1971. Only it was a girl who fell in the well,Erin Moran of later Happy Days.

I've done more searching but can't find it. Here is the basic outline as I remember it.

1. A teenage boy is standing near a rimless well at the beginning. Something causes him to slip into the well. (Either his gun propels him backwards, or he is stepping backwards from a "bad guy.")

2. His father is proud and doesn't like to receive charity from anyone.

3. The men of the town get together and dig a second well next to the first one. Then they dig a tunnel at the bottom towards the first well.

4. (Estimated as a later season. 1970's.)

5. The boy was injured when he fell and they couldn't move his body without doing more damage. That is why they had to dig a second well.

Wow. This was my favorite episode ever of the show. I can't believe I'm having so much trouble finding it.

I read the IMDB synopsis for all the episodes from 1975 all the way back to 1966. That's when the show went to color hour long. I know this one wasn't that old but I checked just to make sure. Many of the episodes listed (about 1/3) don't have any descriptions at all. It was probably one of the ones that was blank.

I know the show you are talking about, Ozzie, but for the life Of me I don't know how to find it.

I remember (may be sketchy) Festus out there with the lantern and helping them dig, and I remember someone getting mad at the father for not asking for help sooner and then the father finally came out and thanked everyone.......(and I think they all lived happily ever after!!)

If I find it I will sure post it
