"All In The Family" is my all-time fave show.
Every episode was great, but some stick out from others:

The one where Edith unknowingly answers an ad in a swingers magazine, thinking the couple's just looking for friendship. When the couple shows up at her and Archie's house, it finally dawns on them what the couple is REALLY after!

The one where Edith gets arrested for supposedly shoplifting a wig.

The one where Edith lets in a seemingly nice guy and he later tries to rape her, but she gets away from him at the end.

The episode where Mike invites a draft-dodging pal to Christmas dinner, and Archie invites his friend who's just lost a son in the war, and Archie flips his wig when he finds out Mike's friend is a dodger. However his friend tells Archie while his son felt he had to go to war, Mike's friend felt he had to run to Canada, and at least he's there to share Christmas dinner with them. I think this episode was the first time someone used the word 'Goddamn' on a TV show.

The one where Archie and Edith go to California to visit Mike and Gloria for Christmas. They find out the couple is separated and Gloria is seeing another (married) man. Very funny episode-esp. when Mike and Gloria are in their bedroom and he refuses to let her have the bed and she ends up trying to sleep on a chair.

Archie gets locked in the basement, finds a bottle of vodka, gets loaded, and starts calling for "da Lord" to come take him. Finally he hears a deep voice, which happens to be the repairman, who unlocks the door. Archie thinks it's God, turns around saying, "This is IT!" and comes face-to-face with the black repairman. The look on his face is priceless!

Archie's basement epi yes, pure gold. There were too many great moments on the show to even come close to picking a favorite.

I think maybe the episode where Stretch Cunningham Dies and Archie finds out he made many an ethinic jokes at his expense in his very face. Priceless.

The entire series was a highlight.

My favorite is the menopause episode with Edith yelling and crying every other minute!

There's so many. They just don't make shows like this anymore. One that comes to mind is when Lionel tells off Archie. I forget the exact quote. The dispute had something to do with Lionel dating a white woman. Archie got all beside himself and Lionel with no sarcasm lets Archie have it.

Default Is it possible

you guys can just cut and paste info about that episode? My computer is old and cannot load up any pages of related sites. the farthest i got was that it was 1/5/76 and was about the New years wedding, so now i am wondering is that the scene where jenny and Lionel got married, there was a family argument between the jefferson's and Willis', and Archie told Edith, "Edith there's gonna be a race riot!!"

I'm dying to know what role Billy played!
thanks

Not legally. C-D frowns on that.

No it isn't. The plot deals with tension between Mike and Gloria due to his making plans without Gloria's knowledge.
