Does that include the Tournament of Champions? They said that will air in November. It was disappointing to hear the ToC will not have both of the "Jeopardy Js" - James and Jason - competing against each other. Jason will be in next year's ToC.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will eventually be another special tournament that will include both of them.

Here's an interesting note on James Holzhauer. My son was 5 at the time of his reign and watched it alongside me. My son really likes math and was always interested to see how much money James won. He became his biggest fan. When James lost, my son was crying and completely inconsolable. I did not expect that. He decided he wanted to draw James a picture and write him a letter. I mailed both over to Sony Picture Studios and asked if they'd be able to forward them on to James.

About a month later a card came in the mail addressed to my son. James wrote a pretty lengthy message thanking my son for the drawing, and specifically mentioned a few details from the letter my son wrote. It completely made my son's day. I just wanted to share, because James seems like a stand up guy. The fact that he was willing to take the time to do that restored a little of my faith in humanity.

Wayne Brady would be an excellent choice, my concern would be, he might be a little bit too funny for the show.
I might be reaching on this one Bill Hader.

I took think either of them would be too funny for the show.

Geena Davis might work. She is a bit of a Renaissance woman:

- member of Mensa and is in the top 2% in IQ
- successful in prior careers as a model and actress
- started a non-profit research organization
- vied for a spot on the Olympic archery team in 1999
- still has TV looks.

Or how about Nolan Gould? Who you say? He's Luke on Modern Family. He has an IQ of 150, earned his GED at 13, is a member of Mensa, and now that the show is coming to an end, he's never going to get another role in show business. At 21, he could host for decades.

Someone who would be perfect, except for her age, since she is 67, and I don't know the condition of her health, is Marilu Henner. She remembers everything. A fantastic memory with total recall. At least the last time I saw her on TV. She has a good sense of humor too, but not so much that it would get in her way. At the very least, she might be an excellent interim host.

I think what a lot of you don't get is that Jeopardy is not about the host...at all. All the host really needs to do is moderate.

I think you're minimizing Alex Trebek's impact on the show.

You're right. There have been suggestions here of this smart person or that intellectual person, but how high does your IQ need to be to look at a card and tell the contestant whether their answer is the same as the one on the card?

What is needed is someone who is reasonably personable, reasonably good looking, at ease on camera, and doesn't disrupt the fast pace of the game by inserting his or her personality into the flow.

I disagree completely.
Alex will often throw out responses like "you picked the right one" or something along those lines, proving that he knows what he's talking about because he understands that some of the questions could almost have multiple answers.

Alex is such a great host because of his credibility. And he's as credible as he is because of his intellect.

Eeeew, no, hes got a terrible mucasy gargley voice. I can't stand to listen to him on MF; he could never be anything that requires a nice voice.
