I wasn't a fan of much of her performance. I preferred Weekend Update (especially Killam's speech critic), Blockbuster and presidential anti-depressants. I thought this was a down episode, but this season has been mostly good.

Lady Gaga shocked me with how good she did. Really enjoyed the sketch towards the end where she was an old Lady Gaga and met up with Keenan in the future.

Also, the Weekend Update sketch with (I can't remember the actor's name or the character) the guy who criticized Abraham Lincoln's speech was so hilarious I had to find it on line this morning and watch it again.

As for the cast, I think that Nasim Pedrad needs to be utilized more. If she was we could be seeing the beginning of a new comedienne powerhouse on TV, she's really good at comedic timing and her characters. Also Bobby Moyniham has stepped up his game to be one of the must see players replacing Sudekis and Hader.

They will take a hit when Seth Myers leaves, but I think all in all they are developing a fine cast.

Edit: Thanks GRSZ11 you were posting at the same time I was, that's who I was talking about obviously.

These are good points. They don't use Pedrad or Vanessa Bayer enough, and I think both are great. They've used the new female a lot, and shes good too.

Yes, Vanessa Bayer too! I don't remember all of the new cast's names yet, but Cicily Strong (?) does well with her characters, I'm kind of surprised to see her heading to Weekend Update, usually the anchor doesn't do a lot of sketches. Also Aidy Bryant is being used more this season than she was last, but I haven't really seen much from her. Hoping to though, with a show that has a history of breakout heavy guys, it would be cool to see a versatile heavy girl become a breakout.

OMG.... I can't believe it's season 39!!! Makes me feel old! I've been watching SNL from the very first episode. Loved the classic SNL --- The Not Ready for Prime Time Players.

I haven't watched since Tina Fey left. Well, except for when Tina Fey came back as Sarah Palin. Loved it as a 20-something in the Phil Hartman/Dana Carney/Dennis Miller years.

I watch it and have since the very first episode. I remember in the very early years I would laugh so hard sometimes I could hardly breathe. Now it just isn't as funny as it used to be for the most part.

I was kind of surprised at how well Lady Gaga did, especially in the skits.
