I might try episode 1 of Wentworth....to see if I like it.
Be warned. You will get hooked and then scour the internet, trying to find the new season before it comes out on Netflix.

Homesman; with Hillary Swank and Tommy Lee Jones. Swank and Jones transport three pioneer women back east after they lose their minds as a result of the stark and desperate existence on the plains. Tommy Lee Jones at his cowboy best.
Naked Amongst Wolves; Another dreary Holocaust movie with a different take (if that is possible) but one well made movie about the last days of Buchenwald. German policial prisoners save Jewish orphan.
