I wanted to know why Rebecca was pulling up to the burned-down Pearson house. Is this when she learns her house burned down, or is she driving back after she's already known?

Good question?
I took it like it had already happened, and she knew...but was driving back? I was very impressed with Kate, and how she took the rejection for the singing trials....well done Kate.
As far as Jack, I've read, they are going to be teasing us, most of this season, until they let viewers know exactly what happened, how the twin got his leg in a cast, how they got a dog...and how Kate tells Kevin....
also liked the way they showed, Toby's rivalry with Kevin, and thought they bought out that situation very well, which I'm certain may exist in some families. From little children, we learn to stand by and protect sibblings, even parents at times.....
Very much enjoyed the first cliff hanger...lol
It could still be that Jack died in some other manner than the house fire and the fire was set by Rebecca or one of the kids as a result. It could be accidental or on purpose, but likely accidental because there is no indication that any of them has been in jail. This is why we see her driving up to the house with his personal effects in the car. Anything is possible with this show.

someone else mentioned about how Randall is so much like Jack...reminding me of how we from little on up, not only do we adopt our parents beliefs but also their characteristics....
I watch my grand child and reflect on how she copies her mother's reflections...sometimes uncanny.....
Wow...some of these theories are reaching. Yes Rebecca doesn't always seem happy but she loves her husband and children. I don't think she burned down the house or anything like that. I'm hoping he died in a heroic manner saving Kate's dog.

Does anyone else think that getting himself killed trying to save a pet is perhaps not the best way to help his daughter...
Wouldn't she rather have had her dad--in the long run--than her dog???
I love my pets but all in all would not want my husband to die trying to save a pet...
