While I have not read all the books or even read them in order. I have read the book(s) S4 is based on. Question:
In the current book I am reading Bosch's X has died along the way. She is very much alive in this season's episodes.
In which book does she die (get killed?)?

I just finished 4 and it was epically satisfying
Really good acting
Great directing
And the script/writing followed the novel enough so that a long-time reader was happy with the result
Not exactly the same but a great melding and respect for the original/series
I am so very glad that even though there will be a wait (a long one) there will be more Bosch

I agree that the series was done well although some things were different and the timeline updated. At least the ending of Season 4 wrapped up everything well enough that we were not left hanging in the middle of a storyline.
