I think Ivar does know that the baby isn't his. I don't think he really believes he is a God either. I really think he is going along with the baby is his because it was important for a leader then to have progeny. It will be interesting to see his reaction when the baby is born and if everything doesn't go according to plan.
The Iceland story line must be finished. I would think the only thing for them to do is leave the island. There really isn't enough people there to continue and all of these deaths are going to have a devastating effect on Loki.
It looks like Judith might have breast cancer so it will be interesting to see how that all pans out. I think that Aethelred's wife is pregnant as well.
I've watched Vikings from the start and while I don't think it is as good as it used to be without Travis Fimmel it is still keeping my interest and I'll watch it all the way to the end.
It appears that the Iceland saga is over-Floki finds the cave to Hel. Is this a redemption arc?
Is Lagertha coming on to Judith with the blue paint?
And Ivar...what to say about him? Hvirstks woman and her family burned alive...
I hope the spirit of Margareth comes back to haunt Ivar. She was a great character
I hope not just because his character deserves a better exit.
Heck his character deserve better than this whole arc they have him on the last season and a half or whatever its been.

I found myself rooting for a cave in just to put an end to this tedious Iceland subplot. About 10% of last night's screentime was devoted to us watching Floki exploring the cavern...how exciting.
That said, in general the episode was a notch better than what we have been getting lately. Couple of good fights, an explanation for what happened to Lagertha, and Ivar turning on his wife who previously seemed to have him eating out of her hand.
I loved the little shrug look exchanged between Bjorn and King Harold after their fight was disrupted. Sort of...yeah, we were being idiots, weren't we?

Well..the season finale is tonight!
Any odds on who is going to die? Here my list from most to least likely:
King Harold Finehair
Hvirstik
Bjorn's new wife
Ivar's old wife
Floki
Bjorn
Ivar

In real life Alfred ascended to the throne of Wessex in 871. That was one year after Ivar vanishes from the Saxon Chronicles for good. A surviving fragment from the Irish Chronicles has Ivar dying in 873.
873 seems to be about where we are in the show at the moment, so knocking off Ivar would be appropriate. I hope they do, I've had a bellyful of the character as the show presents him.
Of course the real Harald wasn't born until 860 and would have been 11 years old when Alfred took the crown.

They ended it in such a way as to make next season a repeat of this one...Ivar vs his brothers.
Last night the TV Ivar spews a lot of bs and then fails to deliver on what was promised...again. The program lacks credibility when it depicts Ivar's followers continuing to believe in him.
I wished they hadn't killed off Magnus. I kind of felt sorry for him.
And the funny thing is, Magnus had a stronger claim to the throne of Wessex than Alfred did..after all, he was the son of Aethelwulf, wheres Alfred is the son of Athelstan
