Watching mini series from Denmark (I think) about the investigation of murder of Kristina Wall the journalist killed by man on his mini-sub and dismembered
Slow moving but compelling
Deliberate
Took all kinds of tenacity and luck to put the guy away
Might not have convicted in US

On Epi 4 or 5...interesting. We DVR it vs on demand, so have not seen the conclusion.

The stoicism that the characters portray is a bit odd; makes my biz partners in Nihon seem animated/over the top by comparo.

While not a cop show fan, I do like seeing shows with tenacious detectives 'detecting'.

The lead detective just never varies his expression 90% of the time
The woman MaiBritt seems to be smarter than the other three who are A to B to C
It she at least shows some insight

And they can’t interrogate the suspect unless HE volunteers?
Never see them really pressing any of his friends or his wife
So very different from other countries’ methods

I've been watching on HBO also, weekly. Really like it. Moves at a deliberate pace, not racing along, but never plodding. Each episode is over before you know it.

Yes, the Danes are very different than you & I.

Next week is the finale.

5 episodes?
If the ending for 5 is the ending of the series there is an entirely different perspective than a homicide investigation

I'm not quite sure what this ^^^ means, but tonight is the 6th episode, and the finale. It is a docu-drama, a mini-series, six episodes. It is not a "series" with multiple seasons.

Hope this helps.

After beginning to watch the series I read about the case. What was done to that poor girl was truly horrific and the perpetrator eventually received a sentence that is unusually harsh for Denmark. I think the show reflects pretty well how their investigative and legal system works - slow and methodical. I especially appreciated how determined they were in their use of the divers and the cadaver dogs.

I thought there were only 5 episodes from info on HBO site
I watch on my iPad app and started after 2 episodes were over so never bothered to find out when it airs

Apparently from what the prosecutor said a murder conviction is normally 15 yrs
Adding rape to the murder raises the penalty
I can’t believe someone as psychotic as this guy would ever be allowed out into the world
His kind of crazy can’t be treated/cured

Very deliberate and slow
You have to admire their commitment and just share their frustration
