With the "foreshadowing" scenes, it is obvious that Walk does not die of cancer any time soon. It would take at least a year or two (IMHO) for the house to end up in the condition we see.
So why did Walk come back for the ricin? What is the deal with the large gun in the trunk? (Of course there are rhetorical questions meant for promoting discussion). Guess we will find out a week at a time......
I'm glad they had the Hank/Walt confrontation now, so we don't have to wait and wait. This way they can go really interesting places with the storyline that we all probably hoped they would.
Also, judging by the neighbors reaction, it seems Walt's activities have definitely become known.
My question is why didn't one of those skater punks find the ricin while pulling out the wires for copper and rail it thinking it was some of that famous Heisenburg meff.
Finding the bug in 10 seconds was just to move the story along. Didn't you see the one where Walt met the air traffic controller at the bar?
