Actually, I saw the Spoiler alert blip that I posted above on E! The actress who plays Maryanne said it was a great ending...whatever that means. Probably lots of blood and guts and a big time death scene. I will be out of town on that night so I have the DVR poised and ready.
Wonder what next season will bring. Should be a good one. I haven't read the books so I've got NO idea.
I also didn't know (and realized from the Comicon show) that there is a huge group of people who want Tara and Sam to get together. I didn't see anything to lead me to believe that is a possibility, but perhaps in season 1 they implied they were interested in each other? I gotta admit I'm not a fan of Eggs so perhaps something CAN happen with Tara and Sam.
Sam and Tara were together for a while in season 1. If you like the show, try renting season 1 some time-it explains a lot!
In watching the episode again, another line I loved was when Sam goes to Eric for help, and Eric, very derisively says, "Why should I help you, shifter?
Well, since none of us are the writers or the producers and we see the same thing that you see each Sunday night, I'm sure we don't have an absolute answer for you. But in my opinion, it has to do with how powerful Eric's blood would be given his age vs the guy in the basement being a recently turned vamp.

If it's based on Club Dead - it's gonna be gooooooooooooooood......
The shower scene! That big viking is going to look good all lathered up.
Of course, his world-class butt will be on display.
I read an interview with him about a flesh colored "sock" they wanted to use - but he preferred to be naked.
If I were him, I think that I would prefer to be naked as well In fact, if I were him, I would probably just sit around all day looking at myself naked
I just spent the last 3 days rewatching the whole second season. It's surprising what I missed the first time around but once I had seen the eps one time, I had a better idea of what to look for in the earlier eps of the season that I didn't pay attention to, originally.
I was especially interested in the flashback scenes of Godric and Eric when Eric was made. Didn't pay too much attention to that when I saw it the first time. I also heard some quips I missed originally and picked up some stuff with the vampire cowboys in Dallas. And I haven't paid attention to Eggs all season thinking he's just the boyfriend but I paid more attention to him the second viewing of the earlier eps knowing what I know now.
If you have On Demand for HBO, I recommend rewatching the whole season again before the finale next weekend.
Is this next season? Because if so, you are evil for torturing us like that!!!
If they follow the books, yes. Those who haven't fallen for Eric, definitely will.
