Now that "Dancing with the Stars" has gone political, it's my cue to eliminate this competition from my lineup. I don't have TIVO and I'm not missing "Gossip Girl" again to watch Tom DeLay. The same with AI now that Paula's gone and the wrong person won.

Here's the lineup:
Mya, singer

Melissa Joan Hart, actress

Michael Irvin, former Dallas Cowboy

Ashley Hamilton, actor, comedian, singer-songwriter

Aaron Carter, singer

Kathy Ireland, former supermodel-turned-businesswoman

Debi Mazar, actress

Natalie Coughlin, U.S. Olympic swimmer

Louie Vito, snowboarder

Chuck Liddell, ultimate fighting champ

Donny Osmond, singer

Tom DeLay, former Republican congressman

Macy Gray, singer

Joanna Krupa, model and actress

Mark Dacascos, Iron Chef personality

Kelly Osbourne, reality star

Clip:
...by far the most eyebrow-raising contestant is former House of Representatives Majority Leader Tom DeLay.
“He’s a fairly divisive figure in as much as Democrats will probably be hoping he fails and Republicans will probably be melting down the phones to keep him in,” Green admits. “I love that kind of level of engagement.”
Adds Green: “Tom loves dancing. He dances with his wife. He watches Dancing with the Stars religiously. For him it was a no brainer, but for us it was an absolute shock.”

Re-Read the post...With the imported list and mis-placed commas, you get some really strange combinations...

snowboarder
Chuck Liddell,
ultimate fighting champ
Donny Osmond
actress
Michael Irvin
former Republican congressman
Macy Gray
model and actress
Mark Dacascos,
Iron Chef personality
Kelly Osbourne

LOL. I don't know why it came out with the garbled list. I copied it from the article and it was in vertical order.

Has the definition of "star" changed?

I would call the show "Dancing with People You Mostly Never Heard Of."

Not wild about the lineup. Who are these people??? But, as a dancer, I'll watch it anyway. I'm always drawn to dance shows - even when I don't like or don't know any of the people dancing.

Melissa Joan Hart, actress She was Sabrina, Teenage Witch on ABC

Michael Irvin, former Dallas Cowboy
 Former profootball player
Ashley Hamilton, actor, comedian, singer-songwriter
His only claim to fame is he's the sun of George Hamilton
Aaron Carter, singer
Ask teen to twenty something about him.
Kathy Ireland, former supermodel-turned-businesswoman
She did some action but to me she'll always be the model with the healthy athletic build instead of the starving to death build.
Debi Mazar, actress
She has beautiful eyes. She was also in "Empire Records" and is currently in Entourage. Check IMDB.com and you'll see she's a busy lady.
Natalie Coughlin, U.S. Olympic swimmer

Louie Vito, snowboarder

Chuck Liddell, ultimate fighting champ

Donny Osmond, singer

Tom DeLay, former Republican congressman

Macy Gray, singer
She's a good R&B singer, sort of like Ertha Kitt in voice. She's also won awards for some of her songs.
Joanna Krupa, model and actress
I looked up her work and was very disappointed by the limited work.
Mark Dacascos, Iron Chef personality
He is the "Chaiman" of "Iron Chef America". He's done some acting but he's really a champion martial artist who speaks three languages Mark Dacascos - Biography
Kelly Osbourne, reality star Famous for being a famous person's daughter. Big whoop. Probably doing this only to loose weight.
