The Wire. No doubt about it.

Every situation is ambiguous. Every character is three-dimensional, believable, and complex.

I guess it has some of the best characteristics of The Sopranos, but deals with a much more important subject.

If you haven't seen it, rent it or put it in your netflix queue. Start at Season One, Episode One, and watch them all in order.

Anybody who voted for Friends, could you please explain me the reasons for your vote?

I absolutely respect your choice, but I could not finish watching any episode of this show. Maybe I picked a few particularly bad ones?!

I personally liked Seinfeld - but if we are looking for the best show of all time, surely it would have to be "I Love Lucy".

yes but a warning to new viewers. it takes probably 4 or 5 epiosodes to get into it. Until then most new viewers (myself included) will think the show is boring and not going anywhere. It slowly pulls you in but once you are in you will love it. sad part is most people don't give it that chance. Also it is not a type of show you can watch while doing something else, it takes a little concentration

So force yourself to watch at least 4 or 5 episodes and yes you have to start episode 1 season 1.
