If your bye is next June, then you're fine with the bye. Right now it sounds as though MI is on autopilot and is handling multiple claims in an orderly fashion. If for some bizarre reason MI has instituted a limit on how many times you can collect on the tiers, hopefully it will apply to new claimants, not to the long-term unemployed. Although this restriction should be coming from the feds, not the state, as it is federal money after all. Which now makes me wonder if this is buried in the new federal legislation somewhere and we haven't heard about it.
Oh, well.
I'm not sure. I looked at the text of the bill that they passed for the two month extension and didn't see anything that would apply, but who knows.
My worry is that I waited 2 weeks after my 2011 claim was exhausted to file for an extension, and I hope I didn't wait too long since I want to preserve the EUC on this claim so that once I finish up the EUC from my old claim that i'm supposedly on, that I can move to Tier I on my 2011 claim.
Hopefully they will be able to get it all figured out and fixed if it is messed up in their system.
Tried to certify today since it has been two weeks since my last certification but was told I couldn't certify until after 1/08, even though I haven't been paid for the last two weeks yet. I'm assuming it's because I filled out the extension application last Friday, but I can't get through to UIA today because the offices are closed.
Hopefully they can get this all straightened out for me since I have already spent the better part of 2 1/2 weeks worrying about what was going to happen and if I was going to see another check.
Any reason to believe that UIA will be unable or unwilling to sort this out for me, get me a check for the past two weeks, and get my extensions sorted out?
The waiting is making me worry even more about all of the possibilities.
The unemployment people will cancel your application for EUC on the second claim when you call them. It shouldn't be a big deal. Good thing to remember when dealing with UE, and especially with matters online, is to keep it simple - and, when in doubt - DON'T. Call first. You were given the correct information, initially. There was no need to do anything further.

Yeah, I was worried I screwed up by filing the app, but I didn't want to lose eligibility for euc on the 2nd claim. I just wonder if I'll still be eligible for the extensions on the 2nd claim after the ones from the 1st claim are exhausted. Will I just have to reapply for the extensions at that point? (even though it will be a month or more after my '11 claim was exhausted?)
I thought maybe they would just approve the extensions on the 2nd claim and then keep that on file for after I ran out of extensions on the first claim.

How many weeks remain unpaid on that 2008 claim and when is your bye?

I was hoping someone could answer a question for me since today is holiday. I missed 1 week of unemployment insurance claim and am now coming to the end of my initial 26 weeks of collecting. Will missing that 1 week effect my elgibility for extension of benefits ? Thanks in advance for your help.

No. New eligibility dates are: February 25, 2012 - Exhaust state benefits to transition to Tier 1 March 3, 2012 - Exhaust one Tier to transition to next Tier or EB

Thank you very much for replying. Even with missing that 1 week I will exhaust state benefits during the 3rd week of Jan.

Yes, just wondered if there's some kind of time limit for applying for the extensions. Don't want to be told that I don't qualify because I waited too long.
I say this because I have heard some people say that they were questioned pretty heavily when they waited to apply for unemployment for a week or two after they were laid off.
