Long time reader, first time poster. I apologize if the was addressed elsewhere and I was unable to find it.
Well, here is my question, someone out there I'm sure has deat with this before.
I was 'let go" at my job on 3/13/2012 for "performance" - No one has ever been able to explain the reasoning, but they told me they would 'allow me to collect", they gave me a form to give to the person who opened my claim, which basically said everything above. I received my first two unemployment checks in qpprox 3 weeks, +/- a day.
Now, when I worked there I had health insurance, BC/BS, which expired about 1.5-2 weeks after I was let go. On the advice of the kind person who started my initial claim, I sent out then appliction. About two weeks later, I got a letter from MSP telling me they received my application and it was in process and that due to the large amount of claims being filed,it may take more time that usual. I take several prescription medications, and without insurance, the cost is astronomical. I had a friend who told me to save my RX receipts because if I paid out of pocket costs during the time it took for my application to be processed, the effective date of the insurance plan, I may be able to be reimbursed my out of pocket costs. Is there any truth to this?
Thank you everyone for reading and any info you can provide regarding this situation.
