Yes, your federal tier benefits continue. You need to recertify your claim. NY prefers you file a new claim at your bye online which triggers the recert process. Or, you can call a NY rep. Some will do the recertification for you, some will tell you to file online. Try calling the week of your bye.

Per FAQS:
Quote:
8. I've been collecting for a year and am on Tier 2. My claim expires next week. What happens now?

Some states automatically perform the recertification process as long as you continue to file weekly or biweekly claims. In most states, you will need to telephone your state to RECERTIFY your claim. Your state will do a monetary reevaluation for a new claim. If you have not had eligible earnings during your past benefit year, your "application for a new claim" will be denied, your old claim reopened and you continue to receive benefits on that claim. You may receive confusing correspondence at this time, especially in Illinois. Be sure to telephone your state if this happens - and keep claiming if the system allows.

I see your claim expires on a Thursday which means, if your claim isn't recertified by Sunday, you won't be able to claim that week. So, contact NY the last week in August. See if they can begin the recertification process at that time. If NY won't start the process at that time, then you'll need to wait until after Labor Day. However, try to get it going before then.

Recertifications don't normally result in lengthy delays, but there may be a few days' delay before you can claim your benefits for week ending 9/7.
