Update January 28, 2014: News report indicate that the focus of President Obama's State of the Union address will be on renewing expired Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) benefits and jobs. Democrats are bring unemployment workers with them to the address to reinforce the need for an extension. Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, said ""He will use every means available to him. Mindful of Congresses reluctance to be cooperative at times, the president is going to exercise his authority." The President's address with be live at 9 PM EST.
Harry Reid was just giving a speech on CSPAN where he claimed republicans continue to "filibusterer" unemployment extensions. What a joke. Harry Reid is the one blocking S. 1931 which has enough bipartisan support to pass and get us our extensions. I am sick of this garbage.
I highly doubt it and if he did it would be unconstitutional. The Congress has the power of the purse.
They might just let him do it so they can blame him and the Dems for the screwed up budget when they have to make cuts elsewhere.
