I'm assuming EUC isn't going to pass again. That gives me three more weeks of regular benefits before I've collected the 25 weeks that Illinois allows. My benefit year would end the last week of June. My employment situation is such that I don't think I'm going to find anything in the next few weeks, I can't even seem to get hired for retail or telemarketing.
What happens after the 25 weeks are gone? I know I don't get paid any more right now, but can I open another claim after that benefit year ends? I had a few temp jobs this year so I should have qualifying wages. Or do I have to wait until I've worked again?
Yes, you can apply for a new claim at your bye. If you've worked during this benefit year, chances are you've earned enough for a requalifying claim in June. Generally, in Illinois, your new earnings should be at least $1,600.
