The documentary Through the Wormhole: Is There a Sixth Sense? interviews many scientists who have studied and found evidence of a collective consciousness and the ability to feel into the future. Are we starting to see evidence that there may be another dimension or a sixth sense after all?

In part 1, there is proof that cortically blind people can perceive facial expressions. There is also proof that blind-folded people can predict when they are being stared at with an accuracy of 86% (40/46 in the video).

There is a Part 2 and a Part 3. In Part 2 there is evidence that random number generators were affected both before and after the 9/11 events. Two people who have their brains hooked up to the same magnetic field both experience flashing lights even though only one of the people is actually being exposed to the flashing light. The second person is in a dark room but experiences the flashing lights at the same time.

In Part 3 a study is conducted where people are exposed to images, some of them emotionally charged, and some of them not. In one experiment that has been repeated over and over, people routinely anticipate emotionally charged images 5 seconds before they appear. In another study, people predict whether images will appear on the right or the left side of a curtain. In the study with regular images, they predict 50% of the time correctly. But when the images contain erotic content, they predict 53% of the time correctly, which is statistically significant.

Is there a collective consciousness we are all tuning into? Could this explain premonitions, hunches we get, and even the ability for thoughts to be transmitted from one brain to another when they are sharing the same magnetic field?

The bible could have revealed all this to you, it showed all this years ago.

The notion of the individual, of the self, is a construct of the mind. Or bodies and minds are not who we are, they are tools with which creation explores itself. When one successfully stills the mind and let's go of the self delusion, one discovers a vast, quiet existence within that is without. There is no I or You, only Us; and We are nothing like what you or I conceive of.

Methinks your topic title is just a wee bit inaccurate.

While that is all very intereesting and perhaps significant (though some of the claims are open to challenge) This:

"Is there a collective consciousness we are all tuning into? Could this explain premonitions, hunches we get, and even the ability for thoughts to be transmitted from one brain to another when they are sharing the same magnetic field?"

is asking a question. Not giving an answer.

There are several possible explanations - individual mental perception, for example. It is just too tempting for someone with an axe to grind to opt for one particular explanation supposedly 'proving' a 'collective consciousness' and don't tell us that it isn't ol' Mystic's 'God' lurking in the wings waiting to leap onstage 'Boo!'

I'm not rubbishing or dismissing it. I'm suggesting caution. In fact science and reason demands it.

This thread is just meant as food for thought. I'm not trying to convert anyone to any particular religion or belief. The documentary points to the idea that it's a result of the Earth's magnetic field as being the most likely explanation.

That is why the idea of it is being denied reverance....caution, and reason restict the truth of it...If one ties a dog to a leash...the dog is controlled to some extent, and knows it is tied...and thus it changes the thinking process to that idea.

if we tied confines to something we bind it down..subdue it..and even effect the results...

when ever observations are made, we have to allow for the imprinting of the observer, and his or her atomic structure/gravity/electrical discharges, in the space of what is being observed..and the mind set of the observer...should also be accounted for..in the equation and the results....

So when you say..."caution"....that is the leash...and ..."reason"..without truth only creates error and or disbelief, in the results of what is presented as evidence/results... and or studied in a way that is misleading because of the use of bent reasoning...

hear is a simple test..

a colour is being reflected....the majority of the people subjected to the reflected light see the colour green....in most of the subjected they all see green as the reflective colour...96% see that colour of the 100 people exposed.
but 4% see the colour gray...
Now the observation is skewed..as the ones observing the whole test also see Green in the reflection....and add that the colour green is infact the light being projected into the mirror...and thus the people seeing gray have something wrong with their sight.....and lable this as colour blindness of the colour green in the 4%...or what the majority 96% sees as green as being normal??....but what about what they don't see in the other spectrum of gray.....are they also blind in that regard?

See...the observation is skewed...Some see things in a different light sometimes...and reason tends to be biased to a bunch of like minded and conditioned people.....in some form of knowledge, that can effect the outcomes of observations.

The truth of the light being projected is governed then by reason...because 96% of the subjected see green, and the testers also see green....the majority of them...make the status coe....and thus all people subjected to the reflected light who see green are deemed normal.....why?...the light being projected is made up of many colours...yellow, blue, white, and possibly other shades...when mixed produce Green....Do they see the other colours?....and because most will say I only see green...they are also blind.....that would be reasoning once the true light is known....and the reflection is true to that....and the observer takes it into account.

long simple test.....and it should be noted...Just because the majority see something one way, doesn't make it right or fact or truth...if there are others who see it differently no matter how small the number.

Sorry, the "staring effect" has been disproved several times.

Bingo again.
Nothing amibiguous either. What exactly did your bible reveal "years ago"? Let's have it: the fine details, especially about 9/11? Just one case would be a good starting point, since you're obviously an expert on these sorts of para-normal events brought to us via God.

nimchimpski, as you can see here, you have to provide the links that "prove" up what you are saying, because, as you can clearly see above, there are those here who will auto-jump on anything they see as supporting their lame and already disproven ideas. A thousand peer-reviewed and technically repeatable studies will show "A" to be the case, absolutely, yet with one pseudo-study by The Creation Institute [or some such bogus & idiotic group], and all the prior well-done studies are tossed out the window in favor of the "new, recent and accredited" one-off study " proving" (to some, in any case...) an obviously illogical and out-dated "B". Not so. Simply NOT SO.

Many of these so-called evidences, when examined in careful and unbiased detail, are full of procedural holes. So respectfully... let's see the supporting publications please, and then we can go from there. You may well be right, but I'd like to validate it for myself.

You know, instead of providing a convenient "jumpin'-off point, onto the ol' bandwagon", such as Mickiel here is famous for doing, with him then yelling "See! Proof".
