I've received two psychic reading after my first true love committed suicide when I was 24 years old.
Both reading were amazingly accurate.

I've done some research on my own and realized that some of the psychics used a technique called "cold reading" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_reading

Do you believe psychic reading? How accurate do you think these readings are?

I've never been to a psychic reader who uses the cold reading techniques described. I always remain expressionless throughout the reading, so they can't get any clues from my facial expression. Different people have different degrees of giftedness in this area. Some are outright fakes, some can come up with a little information that's accurate, a rare few have an astonishing gift. Instead of giving them any information, make them give you all information. If someone says they see the spirit of a loved one who has passed away, wait for the description, and other details, without reacting. If the "reader" starts speaking in the foreign language that your loved one spoke, you know your reader is the real deal!

Take a class in developing psychic talents yourself. You may discover that you're also able to give a limited type of reading. Everyone is unique in their particular talents; some people have perfect pitch and a high level of musical giftedness. Others have great artistic talent, while some can't draw at all. Some have one or another, or several types of psychic gifts to a greater or lesser degree. This is part of human diversity.

The unfortunate thing is that there are fakes out there who only want to make money by taking advantage of emotionally needy people. This gives true psychics a bad reputation. No one believes it's real because there are so many charlatans. Also, in Western culture we're trained to disbelieve these things, so people stifle their talents in this area of life. Some are afraid of their talents, but as a culture, we've buried our natural instincts with regard to psychic gifts.

I have been to many psychic readings. I am also a reader.

Some readers are better than others.

More than 3/4 of the readers that I have seen have been helpful and spot on.

About an 1/8th not so good. The remaining OK, but nothing great.

I am a really good reader, but when it comes for myself - I suck. That's why many psychics see other psychics.

Depends on how you believe the Universe works I suppose. If you believe that we are running on autopilot, then the future is pre-ordained and can be predicted. If you believe that there are countless possibilities due to our free will and being able to suddenly decide to do something out-of-character, then a correct prediction is pretty amazing. However, one has to wonder whether we do what we are told we will do when we get to that moment in time (if it is a wanted outcome) or whether we do the opposite.(if it is an unwanted outcome) The subconscious 'remembers' everything.

What is the purpose of being told the future anyway? I have not seen the point of it recently, although I have had masses of readings in the past but cannot remember any of them now. Quite a few were spiritual readings and not the kind of future-telling readings that some people get.

Yes I do, I have been seeing the same pyschic for years and she is amazing. She names NAMES, she always knows things. The one time I went against her advice things ended horribly. But she's still always been there for me.

I had a psychic tell me my husband would get in an accident in the future in a car without wheels. I guess there is still time for that to happen . . .not wishing it on him (and he isn't my husband anymore

I believe in it, I have been to them, and I am a psychic reader. Not a medium.

Who said anything about the future?
A good number of psychic readings have nothing to do with the future and all the genuine psychics I know of are not making any claims of the future.
I think you are getting 'fortune telling' mixed up with psychic readings.

I have had 3 phone readings, one of those was awful, the other 2 good. I also saw a psychic a few times when I lived in California many years ago and she was spot on. I wish I had kept in touch with her after I moved away.
