Does toxic mold make objects fly across the room, open doors and turn on electrical appliances too? Just wondering...

The OP said; "might explain some hauntings". I'm not sure one could hallucinate objects flying across the room?

The researchers are not saying haunting is caused by molds but that they are studying the link between molds and places that are known to be haunted.

The group says that people who have been exposed to toxic molds can experience similar neurological symptoms as people who have claimed to see ghost
It will be interesting to see their findings.

From the original article, available here:

"We are trying to determine whether some reported hauntings may be linked to specific pollutants found in indoor air ... What I do hope is that we can provide some real clues as to what may lead to some of these phenomena and possibly help people in the process"

They are not claiming to provide an explanation for all haunting phenomena ... which anyone who reads the article can verify.

The other possibility is that the hallucinogenic effects of mold in old buildings might act as a catalyst for the experience one has in a haunted location. In some aboriginal cultures, for example, hallucinogens are considered a gateway to the other side.

I've personally witnessed all of the above... and more than once.

Not that it means much to skeptics but I know mold is not a logical explanation for my own experiences.

Caught this on Coast To Coast AM last night. I had to write it off as extremely improbable even though I do believe in ghosts and the supernatural to a degree. Last night they had a guy on who was trying to develop an app for a cell phone that would let you ouija board. Yeah, right.......

Why is it that so many "believers" here seem to take any expression of doubt or alternate explanations for events so personally? Even when a post's title and text, and the study referenced use the word "some", which in my dictionary is the opposite of "all"?

It is a much more logical explanation than ghosts. Even if ghosts exist.
