They are not claiming to provide an explanation for all haunting phenomena ... which anyone who reads the article can verify.
The other possibility is that the hallucinogenic effects of mold in old buildings might act as a catalyst for the experience one has in a haunted location. In some aboriginal cultures, for example, hallucinogens are considered a gateway to the other side.
Caught this on Coast To Coast AM last night. I had to write it off as extremely improbable even though I do believe in ghosts and the supernatural to a degree. Last night they had a guy on who was trying to develop an app for a cell phone that would let you ouija board. Yeah, right.......
Not that it means much to skeptics but I know mold is not a logical explanation for my own experiences.
Why is it that so many "believers" here seem to take any expression of doubt or alternate explanations for events so personally? Even when a post's title and text, and the study referenced use the word "some", which in my dictionary is the opposite of "all"?

It is a much more logical explanation than ghosts. Even if ghosts exist.
