I would like to see the close-up photos of both the original and the contamination hairlike string object they MUST have taken in their investigations. Maybe we will get to see them...

I just wonder how that hairlike structure got into the sample area. Maybe that was blown in there too.

I think it must be growing out of the metal, it's another one of your "root nodules"!

Doing some magic on the image from a different perspective, it DOES look as if there is some netting or webbing on the left hand end and middle of the bundle, so maybe I am wrong in my assumptions.
