UFO sightings often occur in "waves," periods of time during which there will be an unusual number of reports. What actually stimulated our own government's official interest in them was a wave of sightings in the Washington, DC area in the late 1940s-early 50s. (It's actually possible to do some serious reading on the phenomenon, as opposed to signing up for the Erich von Daniken school!)

Well Rob, that's not going to happen! We are grey, I mean they,...they are grey.

I'm an astronomer. That said, let me assure you that there are no extraterrestrial spacecraft flying through our skies. Thank you and good night...and good observing.

In regards to the comments about "those aren't parachute flares!" I don't know what they are, but somebody was up there in a helicopter flying around and reporting on it. If a reporter really thought it was anything "not of this world" it would be the biggest scoop ever in the history of reporting.

That's what I love about UFO-enthusiasts, they see what they want to see and ignore all other evidence contrary to their beliefs. Much like religion.

Well hell, that just settles the whole argument, doesn't it?

Please ignore that giant saucer shaped object in the sky; it doesn't exist...

how do you account for the An-Nafar Jinmarkah, Ansekadu-ra abra!

Chew on that awhile, I've already told you too much.
And quit watching Wipeout! It's dumb. I do like Dancing with the Stars however.
