Between Inspector Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour, it seems to be.

It still doesn't meet the body count of little Cabot Cove, Maine. That place had a higher per capita murder rate than Compton, California, Camden, New Jersey, and Bogota, Colombia combined in the late 80s...

I agree! If ever you came across that Jessica Fletcher you'd run a mile! People die like flies around her!

I think that someone worked out that per head of population Cabot Cove had the worst murder rate in the US.

Here I would give St Mary Mead a wide berth.

I also read that the County of Midsomer had a murder rate a few times higher than that of Oxfordshire, but the stats failed to take into account that all the murders in Midsomer occurred during a 12 week frenzy each year!

Same with living on that Coronation Street Jezer! How many people have been murdered on that one short street? Plus not one, but two trains, crashing down on the people living below! You'd have to be crazy living there!

Emmerdale must be up there. For such a small village, it sure does have a lot of murders and life there seems to be a constant struggle for the residents.
