How dare our MPs try to tell us about Trumps sexism and racism when we had genocide leaders welcomed, a million times worse than Trump could ever be.. and then we have our own scandals.. laughable for them to pass judgement on anyone..
It was 22 March 2009 when the News of the World ran its exclusive on Nigel Griffiths. The married Labour MP for Edinburgh South had ‘cavorted’ with a mystery brunette in his Commons office — on Remembrance Day, of all days — and recorded the whole thing on camera. The paper printed some of the pictures it had got its hands on, including one of a stockinged leg poking out from behind an oak-panelled door. It was all salaciously compelling stuff. But then, exactly a week later, news of Jacqui Smith’s porn-film claims broke, kicking off the MPs’ expenses scandal good and proper. Griffiths’s dalliance was relegated to a footnote in the public mind. not forgetting Cyril Smith, the paedophile as well as some others.. how can our government ever try to stop Donald Trump from a State visit if beyond me... the list of scandals is endless some much more serious than others... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...litician-abuse Our government should think shame on themselves for their own past.. and what they covered up.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...blishment.html

Stewart Hosie and Angus MacNeil, both SNP MPs and both married, were both bonking one Serena Cowdy (name is in the public domain) at around the same time.
I think we can start at our own end before picking on Mr Trump. who seems to me an innocent compared to some of our MPs past and present..Its scary to think that these people are guarding our shores when their not up to some hanky panky..According to some reports Edward Heath is one now dead who many must have known about.. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...t-a-witch-hunt
Many of those tut tutting at Donald Trump are disgusting individuals. They don't even have the brains to keep their mouths shut.
Very true.. and should clean up their own act instead of attacking the whipping boy.... even in his own country the mocking is taking the country down I feel.. so Trump is brash, in your face full of self importance, bragging, but thats how I thought the US liked things...oh no Im in trouble, big trouble.... hahaha but seriously think about the Presidents who were idolised, but had murky backgrounds.. this man is a saint next to some.. and they know it....

Because the poster isn't making claims that their debating opponent made the same error. They're pointing out that people who are guilty of the same or worse offenses are railing at another (who may or may not be guilty of those offenses) for committing those offenses.
Pointing out hypocrisy or double standards isn't tu-quoque in fact it's the reverse.

Tu quoque (/tjuːˈkwoʊkwiː/;[1] Latin for, "you also") or the appeal to hypocrisy is an informal logical fallacy that intends to discredit the validity of the opponent's logical argument by asserting the opponent's failure to act consistently in accordance with its conclusion(s).

Newly elected MPs enter Parliament with the best and purist of intentions; but alas once they climb the greasy pole of power and influence, they become absorbed into a cesspit of double-standards and "Do as I say....." tropes
